Technique 1

• Step 1: Remove the eye patches from their packaging and place them on the outer rims of the eyes. Apply to the tops of the lower lashes, making sure not to get any on the waterline. Adjust the patches as needed for the comfort of the customer.

• Step 2: Place the second pair of lash patches underneath the client's lashes. By ensuring that the lash patches' sticky side is facing the eyelid. Using the lash patches, lift the lashes onto the eyelid. Stick the patches to the lower layer of the client's lashes, revealing the lower layer of the lashes.

• Step 3: Pull the bottom lash layer out using straight lash tweezers or isolation tweezers of your choice.

• Step 4: Apply the extensions to any lashes that are showing. Working with the exposed lashes will be much easier with this technique because they will be easier to see. If you're layering with a different mapping, this is a wonderful way to isolate each layer individually.

Technique 2

• Step 1: Apply the under-eye patches and the tape

• Step 2: Take another pair of lash patches and apply them to the client’s under-eye area

• Step 3: Pull gently the natural lashes using a straight lash tweezer or isolation tweezer of your choice.

• Step 4: Apply the breathable tape to secure the natural lashes from coming out.

Remember: When taping the lashes, it's essential to use suitable lash tape and make sure it's not too sticky. Paper tape is the best tape to use. It's good because the tape will softly peel away from the lashes as you peel it off. Make sure you're holding the lashes while you rip the tape off, as you don't want to pull off the lashes you just applied to your client. 

How to apply under-eye patches for eyelash extensions?

1. Clean and dry the client's eye area with lash foam shampoo, which has a mild cleansing solution that eliminates eye makeup and impurities from lashes, especially if the client has oily skin, because the lashes will not adhere properly.
2. Gently remove the lash patches from the plastic.
3. Make sure that when you apply it to the top of the lower lashes there is no contact with the eye of your client or in the waterline.
4. When the lash extension application process is completed, gently remove the patches from the outside corner area.

Remember: 

• Take your time when applying lash patches

• Keep an eye on your tweezers for isolation. Their tips should not come into contact with the eye pad in most cases.

• Check the eye pads. It’s always better to detect 2 or 3 lower lashes sticking out or even glued together at an early stage than to find 20 lower lashes already firmly glued to the upper ones.

How to tape bottom lashes?

1. I like to use lash tape because it keeps my short and fine bottom lashes from pointing upwards in place. It also helps to reduce puffiness beneath the eyes and high cheekbones.
2. Cut about 1.5 inches. Start with the outer corners and place the lash tape along the lash line while avoiding the waterline.
3. You'll do the same on the inner corners to form an “X”
4. When your client's eyes are closed, double-check that all of the lashes are in place and that the tape isn't riding up to the waterline. If it is, simply adjust it.

Tip: You can use a sensitive tape that's flexible so that it wraps comfortably around the under eyes. It should have the perfect amount of stickiness while being gentle enough to be pain-free while removing.

How to use lash tape?

During the lash extension technique, eyelash extension tape can be used for a variety of purposes. It can be used instead of gel patches under the eyes, as well as on the top of the eyelid to lift the lid and natural lashes.

There are three considerations to consider while deciding which tape to use:
